Description
Finally a use for all of those old IDE cables!
Sold in pairs, this board allows one to take all signals from a standard EPROM and route them over an IDE cable.
Careful attention has been paid to the distribution of pins such that an 80-conductor cable can be used with all the benefits of high-speed signalling.
Possibilities include:
- Ability to substitute larger EPROMs for a target device, while simultaneously making switching between banks a breeze through the “Force Address” jumpers.
- Fast switching of devices via using a ZIF socket.
- Connect Vcc on pins 28 and 32 together via a jumper, allowing mixing of 28 and 32-pin devices.
- Use all three connections on a standard IDE cable, two EPROMS to be connected in parallel, allowing easy selection via the Master/Slave signal on the IDE cable and the Chip Select Signal on the EPROM.
- Jumper area of board can be optionally broken away if not needed.
